We have a second song from the new album we want to share with you today called “Voices in the Field.” Jonny Sanders made a cool postcard-themed lyric video to go with it which you can watch above. Postcards are one of the themes behind the artwork of the new album. We worked together with Ryan Trayte of Saywells Design to come up with a Calexico design inspired by old postcards that we could share with you. We hope this will inspire the act of more handwritten notes. These postcards are available, along with other new merchandise items here.

It’s Rocktober everyone and we are super excited to announce that we have a new album! It’s titled The Thread That Keeps Us and will be released January 26th, 2018. If you’re curious and want to catch a glimpse, check out the first song “End of the World With You” below. Here’s a video with lyrics featuring some stunning video footage filmed by our good friend Craig Schumacher from WaveLab Recording Studio who came with us on our travels to studios from El Paso to the Northern California coast. See if you can recognize the three figures waving from the edge of the coast at the end of the video. Great editing by the talented Jonny Sanders. The song is inspired by some of my favorite indie rock bands when growing up in California like Pavement, Sebadoh, and The Replacements. There’s some jangle, there’s some whacked out fuzz guitar and some sweet melodies mapping out the need for love, light and time in this “age of the extremes.” Hope you enjoy!
